On December 18, 2019 the Republic of Tajikistan adopted the Amnesty Law legalizing the status of foreign nationals and stateless persons illegally residing in the Republic of Tajikistan” (further Amnesty Law). On March 31, 2020 a meeting had been held with the residents of Esanboy jamoat of Rudaki area with the participation of the representatives of the Department of the Citizenship and work with refugees of the passport registry service of MIA RT. Residents of the Khojabulbulon, Kala, Ishkobod, Changob, Gulibodom, whose legal status meets the criteria of the Amnesty Law – mainly women, took part in the meeting. The information on main provisions of the Amnesty Law had been provided to the participants, as well as list of required documents, place and order of applying and others. All participants had been distributed the copies of the Law, samples of autobiography and certificates from the place of residence. An informational board, prepared by PRS MIA, had been placed in the building of Esanboy jamoat, explaining the provisions of the Law. Chairman of jamoat received list of citizens who meet the criteria of the Amnesty Law for further assistance as well as copies of the Law and samples of the required documents for application.
